Revelation is defined literally as the
uncovering or disclosure
of something that is hidden
. The Bible itself addresses the
meaning of revelation.
In times past, God spoke in partial and various ways to
our ancestors through the prophets;
in these last days,
he spoke to us through a son
, whom he made heir of
all things and through whom he created the universe,
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
But as it is written: "What eye has not seen, and ear has
not heard, and what has not entered the human heart,
what God has prepared for those who love him," this
God has revealed to us through the Spirit.
