If you ask him today, who he is, he probably would simply answer, "a theologian." He is the initiator of the content for the Web site Catholic Biblical Apologetics (www.catholicapologetics.org), having started writing it and teaching it in the early 80s. He takes the primary responsibility for the content on the site working with his colleague, co-teacher, and Web Master, Paul Flanagan.
Dr. Bob has an extensive background in theology and scripture to prepare him for this Internet teaching project. He has a BA in Philosophy and Classical Languages (Latin, Greek and Hebrew), from St. Bonaventure University, NY, an STB and an STL in Theology and Sacred Scripture, from the Gregorian University, Vatican City. After four years in Italy, he completed both an MA and PhD. in Communication Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Most recently, he was full-time director of the Adult Faith Formation program at St. Gregory the Great Church (5500 registered families), in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He is currently a Professor Emeritus, in the School of Communication, at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. He held university roles of Associate Dean for Academics, Program Chair for Communication, Regent Undergraduate program, Undergraduate Program Developer in the School of Regent Undergraduate, Communication Studies, and served as Dean, School of Communication and the Arts. He was a Full Professor at Regent University.
His university administrative accomplishments include Director, Distance Education Programs, Director, Doctoral Studies, on-campus track, and Director, innovative Design/Implementation of all Internet Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Communication, all in the College of Communication and the Arts at Regent University where he was a founding professor in 1978.
Dr. Bob's accomplishments as director of Adult Faith Formation at St. Gregory the Great Parish, Virginia Beach VA include organizer, leader and guide for three Holy Land tours, the creation of digital classrooms, teaching with PowerPoint presentations, taught bible studies via Skype from Anchorage, AK to Virginia Beach, VA, created participation for distance parishioners to teaching series via multi-participant Skype, enabling people at home or around the country to attend teaching series at the church, developed the first distance education program for adult faith formation via the Internet using EDU 2.0, created the first Theology on Tap in Tidewater Virginia, he designed, researched and prepared more than thirty PowerPoint presentation teaching series. He served as theologian and teacher for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.
He has published six books (check Amazon). He currently has an article for publication pending: The Church in the Digital Age: How to do it, What to Do--Pope Benedict's Call.
Dr. Bob now lives and works with his computer from Anchorage, Alaska where he keeps a watch on his granddaughter, Zoe, growing up, and teaches at St. Benedict Church and for the Archdiocese of Anchorage. He has a facebook presence too.
